DAY 1 Arrival in Iceland

Reykjanes Peninsula / Northern Lights

Visits if the time permits:
• The bridge between Continents (Reykjanes Peninsula)
• The geothermal area Gunnuhver (Reykjanes Peninsula)
Optional: 
Dinner 

Day 1 evening (2-3 hours):
Northern Lights / Aurora Borealis tour (if the forecast of auroral ctivity is good and the sky is clear) Transfer to the hotel in Reykjavik.

DAY 2
The Golden Circle (300 km, 8-10 hours)

• Geysir geothermal area
• Gullfoss Waterfall (Golden Waterfall)
• Thingvellir National Park
A day trip to see the world-famous Geysir geothermal area and Gullfoss, the queen of Icelandic waterfalls, as well as Thingvellir National Park.

• The Old Swimming Pool (Secret lagoon with transfer)

If the group did not see the northern lights the first day:
In the evening (2-3 hours):
Northern Lights / Aurora Borealis tour (if the forecast of auroral activity is good and the sky is clear)

DAY 3
The South Coast with lunch (400 km, 10-14 hours)

• Seljalandsfoss Waterfall
• Skogafoss Waterfall
• Solheimajökull glacier
• Reynisfjara beach and Reynisdrangar rock formations

The first places you will stop at are two impressive waterfalls, Seljalandsfoss and Skogafoss. What makes Seljalandsfoss so famous and interesting is that you can walk behind it. Between these waterfalls, you may see Eyjafjallajökull, the sub-glacial volcano that erupted in 2010. Your next stop, will be at Sólheimajökull, the glacier tongue.

Optional: Glacier hiking

The next stop is the black sand beach Reynisfjara, with columnar basalt, the Reynisdrangar rock formations and Dyrholaey rock arch. It is one of the most spectacular beaches in Iceland.

In the evening (2-3 hours):
Northern Lights / Aurora Borealis tour (if the forecast of auroral activity is good and the sky is clear)

• Glacier hiking (2-3 hours)
• Lava Centre Exhibition (1 hour)

DAY 4
The Hvalfjordur Bay, Waterfalls and Hot springs (10 hours, 350 km)


• The Hvalfjordur Bay with its beautiful shores and mountains.
• The Hraunfossar waterfalls (Lava Falls), an unusual and fascinating natural phenomena.
Small cascades stream out of the lava, and the color of the water is turquoise blue and sometimes milky white. Above the Hraunfossar waterfalls there is another famous waterfall called Barnafoss (Children´s fall).
• Deildartunguhver is the most powerful hot spring in Iceland and in Europe. It provides 180 l/sec of 100°C hot water. Most of the water used for central heating in the area is taken from Deildartunguhver hot spring. 

If the group did not see the northern lights the first, second or third day:
In the evening (2-3 hours):
Northern Lights / Aurora Borealis tour (if the forecast of auroral activity is good and the sky is clear) 

Optional:
• Glacier tour to a man-made ice cave on Iceland´s second largest glacier, Langjökull (Price approx. 165 euros, 3-4 hours) 
• Dinner
• Lava Tunnel tour (1-2 hours)
• Bathing in a swimming pool with geothermal water

DAY 5
City of Reykjavík and Lava safari


Reykjavik and Lava Safari
In the morning, a Reykjavík city centre tour (3 hours), including: • The Hofdi House (outside)
• Harpa concert hall and conference centre (outside)
• The Old Reykjavík Harbour
• The famous Hallgrímskirkja church (outside)
• The Icelandic Parliament (outside)
• The Lutheran cathedral (outside)

Optional: Lunch

In the afternoon, the Lava Safari tour including:
• Lake Kleifarvatn
• Lava fields
• Mud pools and solfatares
• Grindavík fisherman Village This tour offers an extreme variety of landscapes: a beautiful lake (Kleifarvatn), fissures, lava fields and geothermal activity. You visit the geothermal area Krýsuvík, that offers unique colours, and the
fisherman Village Grindavik. If the group did not see the northern lights yet:
In the evening (2-3 hours):
Northern Lights / Aurora Borealis tour (if the forecast of auroral activity is good and the sky is clear).

DAY 6: Airport Transfer (1 hour)

Because Aurora Borealis is a natural phenomenon, there are no guarantees that you will see the Northern Lights during your stay.
